No multiplayer in Bioshock Infinite, Ken Levine confirms

im actually pleased about this, some games just dont need multipayer, and anways is it really going to be any different to what is currently on offer from other games of the same Genre??
this can only mean that they are going to spend more time on the single player aspect of the game to make sure it hits every note,

So pleased to read that there will be no multiplayer in Infinite.
The multiplayer in Bioshock 2 somehow managed to feel tacked on, yet at the same time the (shorter!) campaign felt like it was there as a tutorial to the multiplayer. Well happy! Here's hoping that more developers see sense and realise:

• Not every game needs a multiplayer component.
• Many of us would rather have a decent, re-playable campaign than multiplayer any day.
• Tacking on a half-baked multiplayer to what is an otherwise decent campaign, can actually damage sales once the reviews of the multiplayer are considered.

You can only wonder how many games out there have received worse reviews than they otherwise would because of poorly considered multiplayer. There are really only 4 hugely successful multiplayer shooter games out there on the 360, namely; Gears / Call of Duty / Halo and Battlefield. I’m sure there are other games that have a fair level of support, but not to the same degree. Any other game is quite possibly taking an unnecessary risk when including multiplayer and it is good to see Infinite taking a sensible step.

We already knew this though that's why it's been put back to next year. Also maybe why some of the devs. have left.Pretty pleased actually Bioshock has always been about the SP for me and should mean they do a really focused job on it.

Good news for me, not every game needs multiplayer.

More money and focus for the singleplayer will hopefully be a good thing.

Everyone who enjoyed Bioshock 2's multiplayer raise your hand.

And yes, I did just sign up to rush to the defence of Bioshock 2.

C'mon, even if you didn't like it, surely you don't think it's THAT bad.

I like you, you remind me of me when I was young and dumb

Plus we need a walrus to go with our Sloth, our Turtle and our Rodent. We can have a really weird petting zoo!

I see the humble fish goes missing in that zoo. Fine, I know my place. Beware crossing me otherwise I'll unleash the pain train

I played a bit of the online and thought it wasn't bad, quite liked the setup of the flat before playing a match but it wasn't the best online game.

Who ever heard of a Fish in a petting zoo? That's just weird, it would thrash about and suffocate!

Who ever thought of a walrus in a petting zoo! Plus you get aquatic pools that have fish that people can stroke. Catfish and the like. Fine, whatever. If you can say no to a face like mine...

Then you go ahead.

Yes, I'm afraid it is.

Anyway, Bioshock 2 was good. Deal with it.

Edit: And for the record, the walrus is renowned as the most pet-able of all animals (in certain, quite possibly non-existent, cultures).
