Query Regarding Subscription

Postby CunningSmile » 06 Feb 2013, 12:20

I was subscribing to Xbox World and when it got axed I was told I'd get changed to OXM (so far so good) but they've just taken about three times more money than I used to pay and I have no idea what time period this applies to.

I'm hoping one of our esteemed hosts can let me know who's the best person to query this with? If you go to the contact us page on Future's website the only details that come up are the board of directors. Whilst I'm sure the CEO is a very nice guy he seems a bit senior to query about a standing order but there isn't a more general customer service address.

Best off giving the subs team a shout - 08448 482852. I'd imagine they've upgraded you to a longer-term sub, or something like that. Let me know if you have any trouble.

Don't they legally have to tell you of any price changes if it's being taken directly from your account? I don't subscribe because I just don't love you enough and ironically the money that would go to a subscription goes to the games your magazine is telling me to buy.

If I were you I'd dress up as Log (I'm ginger, people can't tell us apart) and infiltrate your way into OXM HQ passed Matt (surely if he's there but not then he must have been demoted to henchman/door guard) and demand an answer by force using whatever Kendo knowledge you have.

Cheers Ed.

I've phoned them up and apparently because OXM is a "premium" magazine compared to XBW my subscription has to go up from £7.48 per quarter to £16.95, and there wasn't anything I could do to change this so I've been forced to cancel :(

He seemed to leave but was still there. He didn't seem like the ninja type.

That jumpsuit you're wearing looks stupid. That's not me talking, it's right here in your file. On other people it looks fine, but right here a scientist has noted that on you it looks "stupid". Well, what does a neck-bearded old engineer know about fashion? He probably – Oh, wait. It's a she. Still, what does she know? Oh wait, it says she has a medical degree. In fashion! From France!

Have I ever been helpful? Didn't really think so :P

Just to clarify - you're an XBW subscriber who's had the direct debit transferred over, right?

If you chuck me your subs email and/or phone in a DM, I'll pass it onto them. There's a possibility we could sort you out with a discount...

Hark, is that the sound of floodgates being opened i hear? Or maybe the sound of 50,000, self-entitled, internet based freebie hunters gearing up to launch their offensive?
