getting xbox 360 slim - connection

Postby philipjulie » 10 Feb 2013, 11:55

Hi,

Had original 360 for many years but have just had second case of red rings. Code shows as power supply/motherboard issue. I'm now looking at the xbox 360 250gb slim. Apart from being smaller, wifi, bigger harddrive, quieter etc I see it has hdmi connector. The bundle I saw in shop doesn't come with hdmi cable.

My hd tv only has 1 hdmi sockeet which is being used for freesat box.

Questions are does a hdmi cable on the new xbox 360 slim make a make big difference visually over using a standard 'hd' scart cable, and if so is it possible to buy a hdmi socket that will plug into my 1 tv hdmi socket but have two other hdmi ends (1 for x box and 1 for freesat box)?

Many thanks

There might be a 2 gang connectory thing, google some shops and 'hdmi connector' and something should turn up. One thing I will say is there is no HD signal that goes through SCART sockets, you can have the green, blue and red component cables and VGA etc but no scart. Worst comes to worst, just switch your freesat hdmi cable to xbox - it's not as if you can do both at the same time.
...and if you tell that to the kids of today, they wont believe you!

This might save wear and tear on your TV's HDMI socket: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... 349735.htm

I could have done with one of those awhile ago. Thankfully I made the tv angry and you wouldn't like it when it's angry so I got a new one with 3 hdmi ports.
