This was just a copy of a previous review, the family guy one. Which you wrote, oh my god you ripped yourself off!

Good review, was never interested in the multiplayer in the last game but will definitely have to give this a shout.

Crysis 3

Postby schwepterbrowser » 20 Feb 2013, 15:52

It said my score was 4, but that seemed a bit low; left and came back to the page and then it was a 7, which seems about right.

What should the score be out of curiosity when I answered:

Important
Tactical
Fun for a while
Didn't care for
Do not fetishise exoskeletons

It's a 7 if you leave all the boxes untouched.

Ah, 4 it is then. Seems harsh, but obviously I wasn't a fan of 2 and as a result I never intended to play the others anyway, so no loss.

3/10 for me, but that seems about right given my previous track record with, and regard for, Crytek's games. The reviewer on CVG gave it a 6.5 and said similar things about how it was really glossy but covering up a basically very generic shooter.

And following the Family Guy review precedent cue a million first time posters saying "why didn't you review it properly, I want a score because I'm unable to read between the lines and form my own opinions based upon the input and processing of data."

Not at all. That was checkboxes. This is drop-down menus. WORLD of difference. *cough*

And 7 is my basic, vanilla score. If you don't want to join in, the seven's still there.

Hmmmm an 8. I'm not sure if I love Crysis 2 or not but I do feel I more than liked it. What to do. What if I loved Crysis 1 but liked Crysis 2 and don't dream of nanosuits but do dream of playing Crysis Warhead? The question someone is sure to ask is "is the campaign really any more shallow and crap than CoD or Battlefield 3?"

I had it preordered but I actually cancelled it earlier today and decided to wait a couple of weeks and buy it when it's come down a bit in price. Perhaps a wise move,

Yeah, that basically defines Crysis for me.

Damn you and semantics, squire. I got an 8 but then I liked crysis 2. Didn't cvg give it 8.5 Cunning or was that just the pc version? I remember weird folk saying it wasn't a proper review but as a scoring system it's much better so kudos.

i got a 6. i was all gooey and excited like a frothy Bieber-entranced schoogirl (or boy, i make no gender assumptions) before 2 came out and i thought it was woeful really. badly lagging MP with a campaign i didnt enjoy or finish. guess i wont be spending 40 of her majesty's space dollars on this... is it just me or does it seem like an age since a 'must-buy' game came out?

I got a 6 too. Bah. I enjoyed the hands-on. Might go back and fiddle-faddle the numbers.

I got a 6, nearly prepurchased it beforehand as well a few days back as I really enjoyed the other games. I will wait for a while on this one and get Tomb Raider and Bioshiock Infinitie first.

Got a 9, I don't fetishise about nanosuits. The line about waist high cardboard cutout holes had me lol'ing. Seems if you like 2 you'll love 3, and I am one of the few who prefer 2 to one, it is the pinnacle of linear shooters, whereas 1 is a pretty average 'open' game.

Didn't you like 2 Ed? What was your thoughts on the hands on?
It's all in the game...

Maybe the first question is flawed. I don't think anyone who makes gaming their hobby thinks that flawless characters and plot are "essential". That's like being a vegan and deciding you don't like fruit or vegetables.

I'm glad people are getting good scores as well as duffers, though. The Family Guy interactive review was an insulting response to an insulting game, and I wanted this to feel fair.
