Shorn of a decade of wrinkles, Lara Croft is reborn in this fiery, brutal origins tale
Rebooting the iconic, original Tomb Raider - Indiana who? - couldn't have been the easiest of design briefs, with both history and fierce nostalgia weighing heavily on existing developer Crystal Dynamics and fresh scribing talent Rhianna Pratchett.... read more

Why you don't just make up every other word I don't know. I went right passed the review and score just to look at the pretty pickachures and made my mind up based on that. It gets a mark of "lots of fire / 10"
Edit: Just in case you're crying into your flatcap gravy and blowing your nose on a whippet I do read the wordy things.
I have given pleasure to the world because I have such a beautiful ass.
After the delight of your "interactive" review I am currently finding it difficult to re-adjust to bog standard reviews.

Guilty as charged. Enter page 1, skip to page 2, check score, reload page 1, read. I'm sure they do it for page counts and ad revenue... Anyway, although I like the look of this, and an 8/10 might have been enough to get me to part with hard-earned cash, the lack of MP write-up leads me to believe the score reflects only the SP campaign. The completely unnecessary MP would clearly detract from that, and I will possibly pick this up second-hand later. Do you see, publishers? SP only = new sale; SP+(tacked on)MP = pre-owned.
Apologies for the lack of insight on multiplayer - we weren't able to put in as much time as we'd have liked during the review playthrough, as Microsoft's PartnerNet servers were on the blink. Either I or Dan (who's freelancing for us this week) will get hold of a copy and write up a definitive verdict by or before release. Sorry also for not making this clear in the review - it's from the mag, and the situation with multiplayer was explained in an Xbox Live boxout I neglected to include.
