"Women are the new core" - Microsoft

Like I posted in the thread about Remember Me, female gamers are a huge market that has been almost completely ignored in favour of the dwindling and fragmenting male 18-24 demographic. It's no wonder there've been a few high profile failures lately, it's not end-of-generation fatigue, it's the money men not understanding that the market has changed.
I don't get the appeal at all. Like what do they do... say something stupid then read the replies while they touch themselves? - Vampyre_Ghost on trolls.

Bit of a daft thing to quote. Games designers do need to change but we shouldn't swing over t'other side. Lets have a nice gooey middle centre and say the core is 50% hither and thither, not men are core/women are core. I'm not even sure what that means...

How about instead of targeting male or female gamers - the industry just target gamers

Our core should be... men and women? When pigs roll around in their own faeces maybe.
It's all in the game...

Women? I'll have you know, women are useless. Men are no good either, bunch of lazy b*******.

No, no that makes too much sense.

I just hope that game producers don't patronise me by assuming that I want to play Barbie and not COD!!!!

Agree totally agree Masterchief. I am a devoted gamer and really don't care what I play as long as it has a good storyline and in actually enjoyable. I have to say I do get annoyed when as a female gamer I get stereotyped into only being into casual games when in fact I like a range of games, though the most hours have gone into skyrim, can't get enough of it
