Seven under-rated Xbox 360 epics for the long weekend

Our pick of the cult single player gaming scene

The sun is shining, there's a half-finished copy of Bioshock Infinite back home, I've got a third-hand 3DS in the post (it cost £80 - sucks to be you, launch buyers!) and another long Easter weekend is upon us. How are you spending yours - engaging in religious ceremonies? Decapitating make-believe rabbits? Dying of chocolate? Visiting your drunken excesses on relatives? Or playing videogames?... read more

Seven under-rated Xbox 360 epics for the long weekend

The only one I've played on the list is Singularity. I would recommend it but it's certainly not the best game you'll ever play. One of the greatest guns I've used in a while though where you can control the bullet. Definitely borrowed a lot from Bioshock, even down to the in game vids that look and sound exactly like the plasmid vids. Some really cool ideas throughout though. I have no idea what the dev team have done since or have in the pipeline but would be interested to see what they could do with a bit more polish and perhaps more money

Enslaved and Metro and maybe Vanquish for good measure. Rayman Origins is good, quick fun. Banjo Nuts n Bolts is a an underrated classic. Ok maybe not a classic but great fun all the same

Your mind went there...don't pretend it didn't.

I've only played singularity as he-who-cannot-be-remembered above me said (think they were enrolled in CoD map packs now. Shame as I liked Raven) but it was a really good game once you got past the normal shooty bits and got the inter dimensional casio.

Sadly I'm doing the whole relative/chocolate overdose.

I would say both Overlord games, Metro 2033, Vanquish and Viva Pinata(?).

In the XBLA department, I would say Fable Heores if you're looking for something the family can enjoy together.

Iron Brigade and the two Kefling games. It's worth checking out the two Banjo games if you haven't played them on the N64 as well.

Still need to get Banjo-Tooie on XBLA.

Maybe they should put Conker on there for me to buy again too.

Dear god Too Human and Resident Evil 6 are f**king awful games, not underrated just plain terrible. Singularity on the other hand is most certainly worth your attention.

I actually quite liked it.

But I'm sure Silicon Knights fell out with Epic about the use of the Unreal Engine and are now meant to be recalling and destroying all copies of the game (as well as other games they made with the Unreal Engine)... or something.
