Battlefield 2143 on Frostbite would be "amazing", but "does

Working with troubled EA is "a hard spot to be creative in"

I was cautiously impressed by what I saw of Battlefield 4, and reassured by DICE's unflinching awareness of what Battlefield 3 got wrong, but for all that, my heart still pines for a different kind of Battlefield - one set in the future, wherein be robots and lasers. In other words, I'm carrying a candle for a sequel to Battlefield 2142.... read more

"Troedsson opened last year saying that modern day settings are "getting stale"

Oh, I'm sure he did... The current "Modern" cliche shooter is starting to get old just like the World War two era of games did after they had been milked to the lifeless soulless husk they now are.

How convenient for EA to have an "IP" courtesy of Dice set in the future...

Time to start milking the next cash cow, one out every year I presume?

Fortunately I've already set up the the Action plan-

-Awful cliche cheesy voice acting?

-Copy paste textures and art assets to ensure yearly release?

-60% of the entire game full of cheap thrill Quick time events?

-Mono-rail like features

-Shoddy poorly done multiplayer with monthly 1200 MSP DLC?

-"Premium member" packages that cost upwards of £40 for special perks.

-DRM EVERYWHERE (You've bought the game but to play multiplayer just insert your credit card, to ensure you get the "Real" Battlefield experience.)

Whoa, baby! put me on the board of EA.... Time to bleed those customers Dry...

EA makes over $100 million every financial year from fifa's ultimate team transactions ALONE.........................

how in the hell these numpties can manage to be in 'financial difficulty' with a company that can pull that off is beyond me....

just how much bloody cash do they need to keep their poor little souls of the streets? tut tut....

Presumably zacho666 said england and their deliberately to be sarcastic. Unfortunately, tone of voice and facial expressions don't come across very well over the internet for some reason. (I hope he did it on purpose).

Also, I have to agree with zinzan. Battlefield 3 took me no longer to complete than 10 hours on hard and I'd say a third to a half of that was load screens, cut scenes, or scenes in vehicles or the like where you can only look around. Actual gameplay was no more than 6 hours. Furthermore, after playing BO1, MW3 and Battlefield 3, I've come to realise there's basically no difference between them. Gameplay is almost identical, the graphics are very similar, the story is different, but you're nearly always an american soldier in a plot about a WMD.

It would be nice to change things up a bit - Edwin suggested the future, but that's been done a lot. How about playing as the other side for a change; we're sometimes Russian, but what about the North Koreans or Chinese or an insurgent group. If it's too against political correctness to be killing allied troops make it a special service operative undercover in a terrorist organisation who has to kill allies to blend in and expose the plot to assassinate the president or something. Sorry, I'm rambling, but I'd buy that game. (obviously, it's my idea)
