The UNSC-Covenant war comes to smartphones and tablets

Here's the less obvious big departure with Halo: Spartan Assault: it's the first Halo game in history that has a female protagonist. She's Sarah Palmer, the pouting Sergeant Apone wannabe from Halo 4's Spartan Ops campaign, and she's here to kick Covenant arse and take names in commute-friendly, five to 10 minute bursts of top-down blasting. OK, so it's not quite giving anybody the right to vote, but it's nice to know that mass-murdering alien scum isn't exclusively the province of the chromosome-deficient.... read more

Ed, is Sarah Palmer still a really obtuse character? That particular trait put me off liking her quite considerably in Spartan Ops, and I'm not sure if I'd embrace her as a playable character, with that in mind :?

I haven't really had the chance to see how they're portraying her this time, but the story-telling in general is pretty light touch. I can't imagine she'd have the opportunity to bother you at length :)

Just imagine what the comments section would look like if that MasterChief guy was still part of this little online community.

As a bit of a Halo fan boy I can't say I am terribly excited about this game; nevertheless, it could provide some pretty solid entertainment and may warrant a purchase so long as it isn't woefully overpriced.
