I called £429 on account of Sony doing that with the P$3, was kinda hoping I would be wrong in a way.

Totally agree with Hunta1, why are we in the UK constantly getting ripped off, how is there over £100 worth of difference between us and the US? Absolute joke.

I think VAT is at least partially to blame for the higher price here. Blame the government raising it to a ridiculous 20%.

Also EU law states it is not to be less than 15%.

I think California has the highest rate of sales tax in the US at 8%, but I could be wrong.

EDIT: California is 9.08% and Tennessee is the highest at 9.44%. Some states have none at all.

With any luck they'll announce the Australian launch price for you soon to cheer you up, if anyone gets shafted on price it's usually those poor buggers! The whole of europe has been hurt by the price too remember, not just the UK.

I read somewhere that Australia has such a booming economy that it costs the equivalent of £1.50 for a lime... er, or something.

I was expecting it to be £400, but saying that £29 more might not be that bad, or at least for me anyway, although like I've said in the other thread I'll cross the price bridge when I come to it.

Not sure what is wrong with the price guys? I'd see it sell for £400 really, the rrp is £429. Even so, the 360 was just less than £300 and that was 8 years ago, price up your inevitable car comparisons (intentionally silly statement) or more relative, how you pack of space raiders was 10p and is now at least 20p, be thankful the one isn't £600 by that logic.

Admittedly I wont be paying more than £380 though by the sounds of it, I get 10% off to sweeten the deal. Not sure if I can be arsed buying though, I barely 360 atm, what does the new 360 look like? Might get one of them to console myself
...and if you tell that to the kids of today, they wont believe you!

£320 * 1.2 = £384, so we're still being screwed on top of the VAT.

I have no problem at all with the price. For a new piece of technology, it's very fairly priced in my opinion (less than a bloody phone for god sake!).

What I have a problem with personally is that not one exclusive shown in that conference interested me in the slightest. That fact makes the price about £429 too much for me.
I don't care if a game is "the same every year." So is pizza. Stop buying the bad pizza. Buy the good pizza.
