It's more about the "experience", less about the digits

Microsoft Game Studios vice president Phil Spencer isn't all about the numbers, people. First off, he's keen to quash assumptions that the new Halo game is actually Halo 5, and secondly, he reckons that digits don't mean a thing when it comes to releasing Halo 2 Anniversary.... read more

Oh god no... I still have nightmares of the jackals on legendary difficulty.
Oracle? Great Journey? Why do you meddlers insist on using such inaccurate verbiage?

Halo 2 seems to get a lot of stick, but I personally love it. It was the first Halo played (so, Im probably biased lol) and it was mindblowing at the time.

The tank segement through New Mombassa, the flood being actually scary (the music was so good for creeping me out), the breaking benjamin song kicking in as the hunters charge into the brutes - so many good memories. Also I really enjoyed playing as the covenant, felt good to have some little cute grunt allies.

I would love to have an HD version, so long as it was just HD - no mucking around and introducing new elements from 4.

that said, rebalancing legendary would be a great idea, it was such a grind it wasn't even remotely fun

Halo 2 HD would be awesome. Still have the original xbox version, which just works on the 360.

Halo 2 it was such a good campaign, it followed on from halo CE so well and made it fun to play in alliance with the covenant. If it was to go hd it would be awesome to remaster the campaign on legendary and this time pick up some achievements for your efforts :P

Because a game has reached 10 years from release, why is there a need for an anniversary edition? Pointless commercialism and nothing more, yet there seem to be plenty of gullible gamers willing to pay extra for such things. I just don't see any real significance in a Halo 2 or any games '10th anniversary game', after all, the game could simply be called halo 22, it would be the same game, just a different title, yet the gullible gamers won't be as interested, so the 'special anniversary' title is used to draw those gullible players into buying.

I didn't buy CE Anniversary because I was gullible, I bought it because I loved the orginal and wanted achance to replay it in glorious hd, with the bonus of playing it with friends and earning achievements.

Not to mention these HD packs/re-releases are not full price games, they seem to be in the £20-30 range

Alternative people want to revist happy memories or in my case try a well regarded game they never got a chance to play? Just because you don't want something doesn't mean that many others don't, and not just because they are gullible.
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?

Nah, I think the Grunts stopped being cute after the first Halo - and only the ones with pointy armour, not the prawn-tail armour. :D

Would it also be possible to let us keep all of the skulls we collect this time around, instead of having to fetch them on Legendary every time we wanted them?

I have the original Xbox version and I love it dearly. I would welcome a digitally enhanced re-release complete with achievement support. Marvellous.
