Jonty slips behind the wheel of Rockstar's biggest open world yet

Writing about Grand Theft Auto poses a problem. Normally, for these first glimpses of a game, we have to watch somebody else play it, then ask them questions. Often, they aren't interesting questions. Is it all on rails like this? Does the character change at all? That dialogue isn't final, is it? Oh. Really?... read more

Until I see actual gameplay footage I shall be one of the few that places this under the hyperbole category.

Hold on, when were character upgrades reintroduced? Everything sounds awesome, as a fan of GTAIV just that but more would be great, but sounds like they've gone to town with a lot of stuff that was missed from San Andreas and refining everything.

Hopefully it will sway the people who didn't like IV, but the car handling sounds worrying, thought they'd improved it? Or is it more that the cars all have different handling again but only the sports cars are arcadey?

Just awesome. Cannot wait, I've nothing to tide me over, so will crack on with Bully, Baldurs gate, state of decay and both xcoms. Maybe then it will be 17th September.
...and if you tell that to the kids of today, they wont believe you!

Sounds incredible! The first thing I'm gonna do in GTA5 is take a grand tour of the whole map! Get a sports car and just start driving! 8)

Years if IV is anything to go by, and considering the size?

R* have said:

"The only versions of the game that we have announced are for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 which are set for a September 17th worldwide release. We don’t have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now."

Exactly right, i am still playing GTA4 now and lets be honest there's was never much to do it in anyway.

But can you imagine how long this is going to last, with the sheer size of it and with how much there is to do!!

I especially cannot wait for the next gen xbox one edition, sure to come out next year along with the PS4 and PC.

Interesting question, i just like the idea of being able to kidnap random people or rob random offices and shops.

I just cannot wait for this game, so much so i have booked the week off work.

I am also hoping the rumour that michael could be an FBI agent or informant is true as this would be a fantastic twist!

Rockstar really needs to step up their game when it comes to side missions, i hope it's different in this but if they think collecting 100 packages or so many cars is interesting then they need to go play an elder scrolls game.

Is this game the same size as san andreas?

Supposedly the world will be bigger than the worlds in San Andreas, GTA IV, and Red Dead Redemption combined or something like that. I think I read that on this site somewhere.
