How Wargaming.net has adapted its free-to-play hit for console

Tanks aren't cute, as a rule. They're hideous, ungainly death-machines, designed to weather the ravages of trench warfare - proof against bullets and emotions alike. You're not supposed to want to cuddle them. You're not supposed to want to take one home and pet it, like a mislaid hamster. Yet somehow, that's exactly how I feel about the lumbering cast of World of Tanks, Wargaming.net's colossal free-to-play tactical shooter, which makes its debut on Xbox 360 later this summer.... read more

I still play IV now, 5 years after it was released, considering V looks to be much better then hopefully it'll be 10!

However WoT does look pretty good, especially considering it is F2P, so this may be my secondary reason.

Is this the reason i'll keep my 360?.....No......That'll be the 10's of games i have for it and the fact I paid hundreds of pounds for something I am not just going to stop using.

On a more related note, I've never played a free 2 play game before so looking forward to getting this and seeing how much of a disadvantage I am at if I don't pay much. Looks good tho. :D

A game riddled with campers.....seriously people camping with tanks! They've got to be mentally ill.

It's certainly a fantastic game on PC, but the fact that the upgrade system has been streamlined for "accessibility" has me worried. Despite the fact the game is very pay-to-win at times, most notably the higher tiers of vehicles, it's been nailed on PC. The fact that they've found they have to change anything at all is worrying. Large font sizes is a small thing and makes sense, but changing the upgrade system could be dangerous. Still looking forward to it though.

Here's hoping they don't cock it up.
