Beta servers now running 24 hours a day, seven days a week
Good news if you're a fan of hot tank-on-tank action and you live over here in the UK or Europe, as Wargaming have announced you can now join in on the ongoing World of Tanks beta with our American cousins.... read more
Played the PC version some time ago now and this is far more user friendly only problem I had was took two weeks to get my beta code and they had the hard neck at gamescom to say just sign up and we will send you the code all most instantly to get you playing
I'm not in to this kind of game, But saying that i've been playing the beta this week and i've had tons of fun. It's not a game i would play all the time but i do think i'll play the full version sometimes. Shame it's only for tanks though, I'd like to see planes and more modes. (Never played the PC version so don't know what modes exist) All it really needs is a way to invite friends. (Something Spartacus also lacks) These types of games are made for partys. Big teams and you need a good team with good tactics.

Playing it for the last few days now. Although it looks and plays a bit dated, it's actually a bit addictive. My only issue is with the controls. It seems like the any tank I play has a mind of it's own, moving and turning when I don't want it to, and NOT MOVING when I want it to. Still, it's fairly enjoyable.
Have enjoyed the beta so far having played about 6hrs or so.
It does look dated graphics wise which is a shame considering it's come to the console so late in the life cycle when everything else being released looks amazing in comparison.
I like the size on the maps and from what I've seen up to 12 v 12.
I guess you need to be able to work with a team well to progress - headset/party chat. but it is oddly addictive at the moment! And considering I'm a bit crap at it - seemingly dying from one hit from a mile away more often than not it's so far served to make we want to get better rather than throw it away.
certain things you'd expect to see - people/civilan traffic in the towns you wonder in and out of. The ability to destroy buildings using the artilery tanks or even do a 'Kellys Hero's and drive into a building from one end with your turrent pointing out of a window at the other for added camoflage effect.
The time to find a new match can be rather slow at times - couple of minutes on average for me, with it taking a further 30-45sec to load the map.
Good concept that could do well when released in full, assuming it's not going to be full of micro transactions !

Well I have noticed it's better to play in first person on Xbox compared to third person on pc and the graphics are worse and like others have mentioned sometimes the tanks have a mind of their own.
Hopefully the full game will iron out the problems and maybe improve the graphics and add in a lot more tanks and country's that the pc version has such as British / Chinese / Russian / French tanks etc
