To be honest I didn't know why they use currency in the first place instead of points. Why the change now from points to currency?

But I thought part of the reasoning behind getting rid of MS points was to make the marketplace more transparent by just using real money? Or does that just not apply to the rewards programme?

When I saw this on Twitter, I was overjoyed. And when I explored it, I found some questionable things which I hope gets sorted out. For instance: Grab a New Game is an awesome idea and if you click the link it takes you to the marketplace to check for newly released or soon to be released games, so you assume you can just download a new title and start earning. Which is not the case, the small text below this offer says that Games On Demand, Indie or Arcade does not qualify. I understand why Indie or Arcade does not count, but why wouldn't the On Demand work? That's where they send you with this offer :?
Maybe I misunderstood the message but then they failed to give me a clear message on what exactly qualifies

The have changed from MSP but replaced it with Reward Points here. Why? Guess it's so we think we get more than what we actually get? I like Rewards, Just a little confused right now :P

I like that you can get 1000 points for playing 10 hours on a new game. I will get that really fast and easy. But the shitty part is only £3 for 5000 credits isn't really that much. I think it is less than the Micropoints scheme. Correct me if i am wrong please! If so can you explain how the "Point system" is better.

I think that it's one thing to change prices of items as real money, another for a reward scheme - otherwise there would be loads of different and confusing denominations of real world money as rewards.

I'd also dare say there's probably legal issues with making rewards straight money - I don't know of any loyalty schemes for supermarkets etc that don't use a points system.

Just did some quick maths as I was curious myself - you used to get 20 MSP for doing the survey, you now get 250 Reward Credits.

20MSP = 17p and 5000 credits is £3.35.

5000/250 = 20 £3.35/20= 0.1675 or 0.17p rounded up.

So it's pretty much the same.

I like it, the idea of 1000 points for playing 10 hours on a new game within 30 days of release. 3000 for renewing live for 12 months (which I'll be doing when I get my new console), 250 for each monthly survey and the new 75,000G "Master" level granting 300 credits for spending about £6.67 on the marketplace too.

Went on the site and it had stuff like, "1000 credits for completing MyMapPack Punch card" Do we know anything else about those, like what they consist of doing (well I assume map packs is for buying map packs, but how many, or are they a specific bunch. Continuing thought, probably when you have bought enough then you get the creds. Alongside the rebate from the cost.

Read into it some more, the MyMappack punch card you have to buy 5 map packs for at least £6.70 each between now and Halloween, an then you get 5000 credits straight off. Other punch cards are for apps, and TV/Movies. all require 5 punches, for apps that means downloading 5 new apps and using each of them for at least 5 hours to complete the card for 1000 credits. Tv/Movies is 5 Tv/Movie things for at least £2.40 or something, and then you get 3000 credits.
