GTA5 now the fifth best-selling game of all time in terms of revenue, just behind four CoD titles

Grand Theft Auto 5 is now officially the twelfth biggest-selling game of all time, despite only being on our shelves for three short weeks. It's also just pipped the lifetime sales of its predecessor, GTA 4, with the combined muscle of Michael, Trevor and Franklin tipping Niko Bellic from his gold-plated throne, constructed solely from old discarded car parts.... read more

So the games industry is dying? What a load of bull! Its never been stronger, the only problem is greedy people like Cliff Bleszinski who is content to roll out the same code year after year. Then moans when nobody buys it. Shame on you!

Sales across the board are considerably down on last year, which were down on the year before. Just because one game does well does not mean the industry as a whole is doing well.

Bit of a bizarre attakc isn't it? Didn't the first gears of war come out in 2006 and the last epic one come out in 2011? Didn't think he'd done much since then.

Bleszinski always seems to attract anger, there is just something about that face :)

There was 2-3 years between each GoW, however I do think that yearly releases don't help the industry, but that's a debate for another place another time

Impressive sales figures for GTA though! No wonder servers are overloading...

I just sold GTAV...for more than I paid for it

The single player was fun while it lasted but the multiplayer (all problems aside) was underwhelming, not worth the wait in my opinion.

Yeah sold it to Cex, unusual for them to offer
such a good price. Thats Arkham Origins paid
for now

Just wasn't fussed on it, found it boring. Heists
woudn't of made me like it anymore.

I went to Game with mine because they price match +£1 with CEX so I get £41 trade in value for it when I basically paid about £24 originally, that's a next gen game right there.

So is this a case where there was there sooooo much hype that a lot of people were left somewhat underwhelmed? It's a shame when that happens. It's also a shame when there isn't enough hype for a great game, as it will undersell. Risky business.

That's NEVER been my experience with CEX, I've always found them to give fantastic value.

CEX are bloody good. I also ended up trading in my whole DVD collection for a number of games. Probably Lost a lost of cash in terms of what I spent on the dvd's but they were just sitting there not being watched so well worth it in my opinion
