Black Ops 2 had "a lot of creative freedom", acknowledges creative director

Sun gotta come up, grass gotta grow, journalists gotta ask DICE about a sequel to Battlefield 2142, DICE gotta say something non-committal about a sequel to Battlefield 2142. Speaking to OXM during a Battlefield 4 multiplayer hands-on event, DICE's Lars Gustavsson has discussed the prospect of another science fiction Battlefield, commenting that there's more scope for eyebrow-raising gameplay features when you aren't chained to a real life premise.... read more

like, oh I don't know, Battlefield 4, out in the US for Xbox 360 on 29th October

That's the second time recently you've given the US date and not the UK one

also I find it odd that out of all the shooters with sci fi elements they could chosen it was BO2, I mean Ghost Recon has been doing the whole 'realistic but with sci elements' thing for years, still I guess CoD is their main rival

What about a smaller, spontaneous attack and more of them? Would that work?

It makes you wonder how long these apparently realistic FPS can keep going over and over the same silly campaigns and tedious (after a while) multiplayers. Their hands are tied as to what they can add and change without people cracking up. At some point developers will have to spice things up whether people like it or not. Ghosts is trying to do that though I don't think adding a pup is the way to go, DICE has its Levolution and has tweaked a lot but there is only so many times the world can be saved is there not? :|

I would love for DICE to continue the 2142 series to rival COD's Black Ops. At least they have freedom to put in silly things and play about with ideas which could then be fed into the main game.
