Join me, friends, for a trip back to the crazy world of mid-2012, when there was so little news on next generation hardware that we had to root through Microsoft job listings for pointers. As of 17th October, the firm is in the market for a creative producer at Microsoft Studios, who will apparently work on TV shows, comicbooks and other varieties of trans-media spin-off for the label's "entire" portfolio.... read more

When you are as big as MS, you can afford to do a couple of things at once.

Win 8.1 is not diluting the X-1's games.

This initiative will not come at the expense of the games.

No idea what you're talking about regarding a Battlefield embargo?

I have to agree with some here though, theres no way its taking money away from games,an if you look at the bigger picture its a marketing tool for the games themselves. Just look at how well Halo Waypoint does on that front. Ultimately,i'd think that if these projects are a success, not only will it bring more life to the games in question,it will also be yet another revenue stream, that they would surely plow back into the games,as without the games, this wouldn't be happening.

Thats my present thoughts on this little bit of info anyway, with all future things,we'll just have to wait an see how it transpires.

I'm support this providing it's done in a way complementary to the IP rather than created for the sake of a television show.

However I would be more hesitant to do this with a new untested IP.

Microsoft is trying to get their hands into everything these days. I'll wait to see how it works out.
