Website 'Platform ID' Colours

Postby Enodoc » 30 Oct 2013, 19:54

Liking the new colour scheme, guys! Are the updates done now, or is there still more to come?

One thing I would like to comment on is the small circles that identify platform, ie purple for Kinect, orange for Live, green for 360/One. Since the 360 and One greens are both the same, it is hard to identify which platform the article is about when just scanning through the list of Previews. I was wondering whether you would consider two different greens to distinguish between them. For example, returning the 360 ID circle to the old green while keeping the One ID as the new green.

Looking forward to what's to come, keep up the good work!

The man makes a good point Ed!

Well spotted.

Yeah, sorry about that - the colour scheme is just a stopgap so we're not out of synch with the new mag. The site is being redesigned from top to bottom, and will hopefully relaunch this winter. We'll keep you posted!

Intriguing, so long as it doesn't end up looking like the CVG. That place is just ugly and really hard to navigate

Ah OK, cool. Still more to come then. Distinguishing between 360 and One is important, so I expect you've got something planned for that with the redesign. Would it be possible to make some sort of difference between the colours in the interim anyway, or is it not that easy?

It'll be based on the CVG template, chaps, I'm afraid - we don't have the resources to put together a bespoke design. Won't just be a straight port, though. It'll be arranged to support the kind of content we produce.

Oh the joys.

A new console era begins and the forum allows comment voting.............

I'm not sure we'll be getting that. I dislike comments voting intensely, myself - it makes it easier for the idiots to blot people out.

Had a brief look at the CVG forums, why is everything slanted and sideways? Didn't look very easy on the eye
