It's going to be a really tough sell on the high street to a Man Off The Street Who Only Plays COD, who wants to know why the console with half the pixels is 80 quid more to buy. I've genuinely got my fingers tightly crossed that Xbox have a strong launch - a monopoly is good for no one, and competition is healthy for the consumer. Hopefully Microsoft are going to gain some traction in the casual/Wii market with their social and non-gaming features, and the attraction of the Kinect as a dance/fitness peripheral.

What, you mean the one that dramatically outsells all the others?

Hopefully that won't mean that the xbox two is mistaken for an add on and nobody knows what it's all about.

It's what all the cool kids (read: number obsessed trolls) are talking about, you know.

Sorry chaps. It's the Big News of the Moment, but I agree we're slightly overdoing it. I'll write something about an obscure JRPG next, promise.

If this disparity hadn't been highlighted in the gaming press would the average gamer ever even have noticed? Us lot who scour the net for news and read the forums are not average gamers...

A lot of people still can't see the point of blu-ray over DVD. Unless you had a PS4 and X1 running side by side with the same setup it would be extremely hard to compare the two.

The price is another issue though and is the biggest hurdle they'll have come xmas when parents are making purchases for little Jonny...

well i wouldnt say overdoing it! anything announced in 1080p native needs headline coverage, the xb1 needs these things to show that it is still in the race, we are moving from the xbox 360 not the wii, so yes graphics ,resolution and fps are very important to a lot of the xbox community.
