D4 first look - embrace the weird via Xbox One's Kinect

I'm afraid I can't let you do that, Dave

Which currently known-about Xbox One game, if any, will be the game that finally breaks down and washes away years of cynicism about motion control at large? The most obvious candidate seems to be Rare's Kinect Sports Rivals, though I suspect its sunset-hued family friendly branding won't do much to win round those who think of Kinect as a kiddy's peripheral. Ubisoft's Fighter Within is rather more "grown-up", providing you equate "grown-up" entertainment with steroid shots and bloody teeth, but it'll have to perform well indeed to exorcise the spectre of Fighter Uncaged, a shoddy launch offering for the original Kinect.... read more

Deadly Premonition was one of the most unexpectedly enjoyable games I've played so D4 is going to be on my shopping list as soon as it's released :D

cheers tipster but can you tell me if the pricing model of arcade titles are meant to be staying the same or can £20-25 titles be expected

There will be different episodes spread out a few months so I would say about £3-4 per episode.

Zach. The dialogue between York and Zach was one of the reasons I loved the game.

I know it's cell shaded and arty, but those graphics do not exactly look next gen - did they start developing it for 360 originally?

Doubt it seeing as what Deadly Premonition looked like on the 360.

Saying that, though, the graphics were soon forgotten in Deadly Premonition as the game was so damn interesting and compelling..

I just watched the IGN video of this demo and it looked bloody great fun to me. Something totally different for launch - will definitely be getting episode 1.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkW89Z-XOBY

The kinect stuff looked great - accurate and fun.

I hope the Walking Dead people consider implementing kinect in a similar way for XO. Maybe not, don't know - but could be great - picking up a hammer and slamming it down on a Z head! I always thought the Walking Dead UI was a bit clumsy but always forgave it due to voice acting and story.

If you've not seen the vid watch it - looks good.
